Dr. Aparagaon Shivnagar village of Kotchandpur upazila of Jhenaidah has succeeded in pearl cultivation. One named Najural Islam. He created a sensation by cultivating pearls in the pond. It is reported that the 3.3 acre project has 2 ponds specially prepared for beautification as well as pond banks for production. In the pond, culture of pearls in native species of oysters is going on along with mixed culture of carp fish. Dr. about this. Talking to Nazrul Islam, it is known that it costs only 50 rupees to cultivate pearls in each oyster. Two pearls are found in each oyster. The current market price of each pearl is 600 to 700 taka.


Auspicious opening of Bangladesh's first non-governmental pearl laboratory. The Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Animal Resources inaugurated the pearl laboratory of Rayyan Pearl Harbor in Kotchandpur Upazila of Jhenaidah by flying pigeons and balloons. Nahid Rashid. He inaugurated this laboratory on Monday (16-10-23) night. Ryan is the founder and director of Pearl Harbor. Nazrul Islam said pearl is a potential cash crop. Therefore, through this laboratory and training center, young entrepreneurs will be created in the country and along with job creation, unemployment will be eliminated as well as pearl industry will develop in the country.


Mr. Mahmud Ullah Maruf, Private Secretary of the Secretary, Senior Assistant Director of Khulna Fisheries Department Mr. Biswajit Bairagi, Kotchandpur Upazila Executive Officer Mr. Uchen May, District Fisheries Officer Mr. Farhadur Reza, Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Dora Union Parishad were present. Chairman Mr. Abdul Jalil Biswas and many others.

After the inauguration, he visited the pearl laboratory and toured the pearls and pearl jewelery produced in the indigenous species of oysters. He expressed his satisfaction and wished for the prosperity of the pearl laboratory. Besides, he said that if there is any help from the government, he will do it.
